Jungle Bungy Jump

  • Thrilling & Challenging Adventure in Kathu

Just 20 minutes drive from the noisy urban centre of Patong lies Phuket's Jungle Bungy Jump overlooking a tranquil lagoon surrounded by dense emerald forest. This lovely setting has been a memorable backdrop for people experiencing the thrill of bungy jumping in Thailand for more than twenty years. With New Zealand and Australian owners, Thailand's original bungy jump operation is run strictly according to New Zealand bungy standards and is proud to have enabled many thousands of people to safely feel the thrill of this exhilarating activity.

The bungy jump rises 50 metres (165 ft) above a natural lagoon surrounded by dark green jungle. A birds-eye view of this beautiful setting has been an unforgettable part of many people’s Thailand experience over our 23 years of operation. It might be fair to say, however, that some jumpers don’t get to appreciate it as much as they could due to the excitement of doing their first jump (its also difficult to see with your eyes closed). If this happens to you then the solution is simple ... do it again ! The second time round a bungy jump is often more exhilarating as you've already conquered your fear.

On the ground the view is still impressive from the waterside viewing area where spectators can relax at tables with a cold drink and watch the jumpers leap from the platform directly above. Jumpers can choose to stay dry or to be dunked in the water and for those who want to try something a little different from the classic solo jump we offer both tandem and catapult variations. All options can be arranged with the jumpmasters prior to weighing-in.The Bungy Jump options include:

Classic Solo Bungy Jump
This is the jump familiar to most where you leap arms-outstretched in a graceful swandive...or at least thats the ideal way to do it. We don't award style points so as long as you go off the platform head first and obey the jumpmaster's instructions about what not to do then you are free to express yourself. All who jump are awarded the Jungle Bungy Jump "Certificate of Courage" because they've earned it!

Water Touch Bungy Jump
As the bungy overhangs at the edge of a large natural lagoon, jumpers can choose between staying dry and getting wet. Our skilled crew can calibrate so that the maximum extension of the cord pulls you up within inches of the water or allow it to extend so that you wil be partially dipped into it. The choice is yours and is by arrangement with the jumpmaster at weigh-in time immediately prior to jumping.

Catapult Bungy Jump
If the thought of leaping off a ledge the same height as a 15-storey building seems just a little too crazy to consider then perhaps the catapult bungy is for you. Sometimes known as a “reverse bungy” the catapult means you start on the ground and are catapulted into the air giving  most of the fun of a classic jump without the need to force yourself to leap from a great height.

Tandem Bungy Jump
Another option is the tandem jump where two friends jump connected together. It can be a good way to help build up the courage to leap or it can just be a way to add to the fun and share a great moment with someone you like. Any two bungy jump packages purchased can be specified as a single tandem jump . Any requests to do this can be made right up to the time of jumping.

Jungle Bungy Jump offers one of the most thrilling and challenging activities in Phuket: a 50-metre plunge above a jungle-surrounded lake. Managed and run by a professional New Zealand team, the Phuket branch of this business first opened in 1992. Jungle Bungy Jump has three branches in Thailand: Pattaya, Chiang Mai and Phuket and is the only company fully licensed and insured for this activity in Thailand. The entire operation is overseen by S.A.N.Z. (Standard Association of New Zealand) with whom jump masters are registered. The setting of Jungle Bungy Jump in Phuket is superb and inspiring: a small green lake in the middle of luxurious vegetation. On the side of the pond stand three bungalows: the office/front-desk/terrace, a small bar, and the area where jumpers are fitted out and equipped. Right behind the latter, a 50-metre tall crane overlooks the greenish waters of the lagoon.

Located in Kathu, only 15 minutes by car from Patong Beach, Jungle Bungy Jump gives you a choice of five different styles of jump: standard Bungy, water touch (or water dip) Bungy, tandem Bungy, backward Bungy, and catapult Bungy. Standard and backward Bungy jumps allow you to ‘draw figures’ in the air; Tandem Bungy offers a jump with your loved one (adding a little bounce to your love life) ; Catapult Bungy is the exact opposite to Bungy jumping as you start from the ground and are propelled into the air with the elastic stretched from the top of the crane. Water touch (dip) Bungy allows a bit of fun for the audience and ladies please be careful to wear something practical as the water dip can result in an instant ‘wet T-shirt’ look, or worst, in a topless exhibition.

Soft drinks, beers and ice-cream are available at the bar, and you can stay and watch your friends’ jump comfortably installed on the lakeside terrace. There is no age limit; the only condition required is that jumpers must weigh between 35 and 235kg. There is a no refund policy; once at the top of the crane if you decide not to jump, you won’t get reimbursed (note that men chicken out more often than women...). To sum up: Jungle Bungy Jump is exactly the right place to go if you are looking for an extreme activity and life-long action-packed memory from Phuket. All the people working at Jungle Bungy Jump are professionals who only have one thing in mind: thrills and fun in an extremely safe environment. And no worries, once at the top of the crane, they can give you a nudge if you like.
